	在自然界的各类环境中，都有微生物的存在，它们在各自的“岗位”上都发挥着或大或小、或多或少的作用。有一些具有特殊功能的微生物，由于其作用的重要性或特殊性而受到人们的广泛关注，这些具有特殊功能的微生物叫做功能微生物，功能微生物常常参与特定的地球化学循环，常见的有碳循环、氮循环、甲烷循环、硫循环等。常见的功能微生物有氨氧化细菌、氨氧化古菌、硝化细菌、固氮微生物、产甲烷菌、硫酸盐还原菌等。

	支配这些功能微生物发挥重要功能的基因被称为功能基因，如amoA、dsrB、nxrA、nirK、mcrA、pmoA。目前微基生物已经完成了几十种功能基因的检测，具有成熟的检测技术和分析经验。

</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
	氮是生命体核酸与蛋白质必不可少的组成元素。氮素的生物地球化学循环是土壤物质循环的重要组成部分，不仅影响土壤质量以及农田等环境系统的生产力和可持续性，还会影响全球环境变化。氮循环是指氮气、无机氮化合物、有机氮化合物在自然界中相互转化过程的总称，包括氨化作用、硝化作用、反硝化作用、固氮作用等。在不同的过程中，不同的功能基因起着不同的左右，常见的氮循环功能基因如下表所示：

	硫是自然界中最丰富的元素之一，它以不同形式存在，这些不同形式的硫在微生物作用下，可以相互转化，构成了硫的地球化学循环。<br />
微生物在硫循环过程中的作用途径主要有3条，1）是含硫有机物的脱硫作用，2）还原性无机硫的氧化作用力，3）硫酸盐的还原作用。其中硫酸盐还原菌（SRB）和硫氧化菌（SOB）是推动硫循环的重用微生物。常见的硫循环相关的功能基因有：
